All faith formation leaders (including directors of religious education (DREs), pastoral associates, faith formation coordinators, etc. are invited to attend the New Faith Formation Leaders Orientation on Monday, August 22nd and the Faith Formation Leaders In-Service on Tuesday August 23rd. Both events will be held at the Fr. Bernard Youth Center, Mt. Angel.
The New Faith Formation Leaders Orientation on Monday, August 22nd is for anyone who is new to ministry within the last five years. The day will include an overview of policies, a conference on best practices, networking, dinner and prayer. Veteran leaders are highly encouraged to attend as well.
The Faith Formation Leaders In-Service (formerly the DRE In-Service) on Tuesday, August 23, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM will include conferences, networking, reconciliation, adoration, fellowship and archdiocesan updates. Mass will be celebrated at 4pm, by Archbishop Sample.
The keynote speaker is Bill Keimig, who serves as the Assistant Director of the Catechetical Institute at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Learn more about Bill Keimig HERE.

5:30pm: Dinner for Orientation Participants and staff
7:00pm: Conference: New Ministry Leaders 101: Essential Realities, Relationships and Best Practices (by Bill Keimig)
9:00pm: Wine & Cheese Social
Tuesday, August 23rd: Faith Formation Leaders In-Service:
8:00am: Continental Breakfast
8:40am: Welcome and opening prayer
9:00am: Conference 1: The Catechumenal Model in Other Forms of Catechesis (by Bill Keimig)
10:45: Conference 2: Planning for Success: Program Organization and Assessment (by Bill Keimig)
1:15pm: Pastoral Ministries Department Updates
2:00pm: Conference 3: Recruiting, Training and Forming Volunteers (by Bill Keimig)
3:00pm: Adoration in Chapel and Confession available; personal time
3:30pm: Youth Ministers (not attending the in-service) arrival and check-in
3:45pm: Prep for Mass
4:00pm: Mass with Archbishop Sample (for both YM and DRE communities)
5:00pm: Dinner for all Faith Formation Leaders and Youth Ministers
7:00pm: Youth Minister Gathering begins (for those who might be staying on for that event)
